【摘要】:1Thispracticecoversthepreparation,handling,testing,andprocedureforusingtheethanol-chlorobenzenedosimetrysystemtomeasureabsorbeddoseinmaterialsirradiatedbyphotonsandelectronsintermsofabsorbeddoseinwater.Thesystemconsistsofadosimeterandappropriateanalyticalinstrumentation.Forsimplicity,thesystemwillbereferredtoastheECBsystem.Itisclassifiedasareference-standarddosimeterandisalsousedasaroutinedosimetrysystem(seeISO/ASTMGuide51261).2Thispracticedescribesthetitrationanalysisasastan-dardreadoutprocedurefortheECBdosimeter.Otherappli-cablereadoutmethods(spectrophotometric,oscillometric)aredescribedinAnnexAlandAnnexA2.3Thispracticeappliesonlytogammarays,Xrays,andhigh-energyelectrons.4Thispracticeappliesprovidedthefollowingaresatis-fied:4.1Theabsorbeddoserangeshallbefrom10Gyto2MGy(1).4.2Theabsorbeddoseratedoesnotexceed10Gys(2).4.3Forradionuclidegamma-raysources,theinitialpho-tonenergyshallbegreaterthan0.6MeV.Forbremsstrahlungphotons,theinitialenergyoftheelectronsusedtoproducethebremsstrahlungphotonsshallbeequaltoorgreaterthan2MeV.Forelectronbeams,theinitialelectronenergyshallbeequaltoorgreaterthan4MeV(3)(seeICRUReports34and35).Note1—Thelowerlimitsofelectromagneticradiationenergygivenareappropriateforacylindricaldosimeterampouleof12-mmdiameter.Correctionsfordosegradientsacrossanampouleofthatdiameterorlessarenotrequired.TheECBsystemmaybeusedatenergiesofincidentelectronslowerthan4MeVbyemployingthinner(inthebeamdirection)dosimetercontainers(seeICRUReport35).TheECBsystemmayalsobeusedatX-rayenergiesaslowas120kVp(4).Inthisrangeofphotonenergiestheeffectcausedbythewallisconsiderable.4.4Theirradiationtemperatureofthedosimetershouldbewithintherangefrom-40℃to80℃.Note2—Thetemperaturedependenceofdosimeterresponseisknownonlyinthisrange.Foruseoutsidethisrange,thedosimetrysystemshouldbecalibratedfortherequiredrangeofirradiationtemperatures.4.5Theeffectsofsizeandshapeoftheirradiationvesselontheresponseofthedosimetercanadequatelybetakenintoaccountbyperformingtheappropriatecalculationsusingcavitytheory(5).5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappro-priatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplica-bilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.note:2Theboldfacenumbersinparenthesesrefertothebibliographyattheendofthispractice.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedprimarilytodeterminetheheatevolvedin,orcontributedto,afireinvolvingproductsofthetestmaterial.Alsoincludedisadeterminationoftheeffectiveheatofcombustion,masslossrate,thetimetosustainedflaming,andsmokeproduction.Thesepropertiesaredeterminedonsmallsizespecimensthatarerepresentativeofthoseintheintendedenduse.Thistestmethodisapplicabletovariouscategoriesofproductsandisnotlimitedtorepresentingasinglefirescenario.AdditionalguidancefortestingisgiveninX1.2.3andX1.11.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoend-useproductsthatdonothaveplanar,ornearlyplanar,externalsurfaces.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandardprovidesformeasuringtheresponseofmaterialsexposedtocontrolledlevelsofradiantheatingwithorwithoutanexternalignitor.1.2Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminetheignitability,heatreleaserates,masslossrates,effectiveheatofcombustion,andvisiblesmokedevelopmentofmaterialsandproducts.1.3Therateofheatreleaseisdeterminedbymeasurementoftheoxygenconsumptionasdeterminedbytheoxygenconcentrationandtheflowrateintheexhaustproductstream.Theeffectiveheatofcombustionisdeterminedfromaconcomitantmeasurementofspecimenmasslossrate,incombinationwiththeheatreleaserate.Smokedevelopmentismeasuredbyobscurationoflightbythecombustionproductstream.1.4Specimensshallbeexposedtoinitialtestheatfluxesintherangeof0to100kW/m2.Externalignition,whenused,shallbebyelectricspark.Thevalueoftheinitialtestheatfluxandtheuseofexternalignitionaretobeasspecifiedintherelevantmaterialorperformancestandard(seeX1.2).Thenormalspecimentestingorientationishorizontal,independentofwhethertheend-useapplicationinvolvesahorizontaloraverticalorientation.Theapparatusalsocontainsprovisionsforverticalorientationtesting;thisisusedforexploratoryordiagnosticstudiesonly.1.5Ignitabilityisdeterminedasameasurementoftimefrominitialexposuretotimeofsustainedflaming.1.6Thistestmethodhasbeendevelopedforuseformaterialandproductevaluations,mathematicalmodeling,designpurposes,ordevelopmentandresearch.Examplesofmaterialspecimensincludeportionsofanend-useproductorthevariouscomponentsusedintheend-useproduct.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.8Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
